Veterinary Assistant – Urgent Care

As we continue growing in West Chester, we’re looking for Veterinary Assistants who want to do meaningful work alongside people who truly care about each other, their patients, and the communities they serve.

At AcutePet, Veterinary Assistants are an essential part of the patient experience. From the moment a client walks through our doors, you help create a calm, supportive environment during what is often a stressful or emotional time. You’ll work closely with our doctors and technicians to provide hands-on patient care, support efficient workflows, and help pets receive timely, high-quality treatment with compassion at the center of everything we do.

Responsibilities include:

• Patient restraint and safe handling
• Assisting during exams and procedures
• Collecting samples and taking radiographs
• Preparing and cleaning treatment areas
• Maintaining accurate medical records
• Supporting patient flow and client communication
• Helping to ensure every patient receives thoughtful, compassionate care throughout their visit

• Previous veterinary assistant or animal care experience preferred
• Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and adapt throughout the shift
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
• Receptive to feedback and committed to continued learning and growth
• Reliable attendance and commitment to supporting teammates and patients throughout scheduled shifts
• Availability for a consistent rotation of evening and weekend shifts as part of our urgent care schedule

• $18–22/hour, based on experience
